.Description
(Summary) Mirrors are not just reflections—they are spaces in motion, always shifting. This project explores the tension between perception and identity, creating a fragmented narrative of the self across five posters. Each one captures a fleeting moment of a firework’s explosion, symbolising the self’s continuous transformation, both intimidating and awe-inspiring.
(Concept Development) 7320 square—2x2mm—mirrors were attached, representing the multiplicity of self. Each mirrored square offers an interpretation, an attempt to grasp what can never fully be understood. These imperfect reflections distort as much as they reveal, like the identity we present to the world.
(Concept Background)
In a world where identities constantly shift, some tirelessly search for a sense of self, some may not bother searching at all, while others lose themselves in the search itself. There is no right path, no predetermined timeline. The only truth lies in the realization that identity is not something to find, but something to experience and understand in each shifting moment. The narrative is never whole, always shifting as we try to reconcile our internal and external selves. And what about the spaces in between? This project offers no solutions but rather serves as food for thought, much like Umberto Eco's "Opera Aperta", inviting open-ended interpretations.
(Research) Building on PEN UMB ANT, this project focuses on identity as a fragmented, evolving reflection. Inspired by Jung, Lacan, and philosophical/cultural explorations of consciousness, it delves into the space between the visible and invisible, conscious and unconscious. The work invites viewers to engage with their reflections, exploring how they construct and reconstruct, and reconstruct, and reconstruct their identity.
